Project objectives
LCAMP aims to support the evolution of Advanced Manufacturing towards a human-centric, sustainable, and resilient model, attentive to the digital and green transitions, addressing Vocational Education and Training (VET) Centres, students, and businesses. In this transformation, a fundamental role is played by advanced production systems based on robotics, 3D and 4D printing, Artificial Intelligence, and High Performance Computing.
In particular, the objective of the project is to create a permanent European platform on professional excellence in Advanced Manufacturing, collaborating across borders to support and strengthen regional Centres of Vocational Excellence.
LCAMP also seeks to improve regional competitiveness through collaboration with territorial VET systems, with particular focus on developing learning-centred approaches linked to advanced manufacturing technologies.
The role of AFIL
Thanks to its involvement in the ADMA TranS4MErs project, implemented between 2021 and 2024, AFIL plays a central role in organising LCAMP partner training on the ADMA methodology and coordinating the related activities, that have allowed them being capable of engaging with SMEs, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement, and implementing effective solutions to strengthen their competitiveness.
The Cluster also acts as a bridge between the industry and VET sectors. In this context, it contributes to the creation of a catalogue of existing training courses on the digital transformation of SMEs, with the aim of identifying best practices to be integrated into partners’ offerings.
Opportunities for AFIL Members
AFIL Members can access the Advanced Manufacturing training course catalogue, focusing upskilling and reskilling the workforce to successfully navigate the digital and green transitions.
They can also indirectly benefit from the activities of the Skills and Jobs Observatory, which identifies emerging trends and skills gaps to be addressed, and the Open Innovation Community, which strengthens cooperation between VET Centres and businesses, promotes applied research, and offers innovative training programmes for the digital era.
Lastly, LCAMP provides access to an international network of Collaborative Learning Factories, fostering the development of transnational projects and the creation of knowledge-sharing tools.
